Last week our very favorite beauty looks had us singing"brown skin girl"

Last week Beyonce dropped her new Lion-King inspired album “The Gift” and as usual it was a hit. The whole album is amazing but one track stood out: Brown Skin Girl featuring WizkidThe track is a timely ode to women with dark skin as it reminds us to not just embrace our skin tone but also be proud of it. The message was well received as the song has been receiving a lot of buzz from black women across the world, becoming a sort of an anthem for, well, brown skin girls!

This track, which beautifully featured a cameo from Blue Ivy Carter has also birthed its own hashtag#BrownSkinGirlChallenge. Over the last few days, brown skin celebrities, makeup artists and influencers have flooded our timelines with photos of their beauty looks just to celebrate their rich melanin skin.
Beyonce has never shied away from embracing her skin but this track just uplifted other women of colour so it’s easy to understand why it was alive on arrival.
“Brown skin girl, Your skin just like pearls, the best thing in the world, never trade you for anybody else.” This is actually my best line from the track and the most used caption last week. You can consider this our own #brownskingirlchallenge as we have rounded up the brown skin beauty looks we fell in love last week!
